Fiscal framework
The company is subject to South African corporate income tax at 27%. Capital expenditure attracts accelerated allowances (notably section 12C-type write-offs on qualifying plant), and assessed losses from the ramp carry forward, subject to the 80%-of-taxable-income utilisation cap. A state mineral royalty is payable under the MPRRA; for unrefined minerals the effective rate is formula-based, rising with profitability between a 0.5% floor and a 7% ceiling, captured explicitly in the model rather than as a flat assumption.
