Operating Model

Jump to section

Operations are built around a single principle: control quality and phytosanitary compliance end-to-end, because that control is the product.

The three operating pillars

  • Nucleus estate. A company-operated irrigated farm scaling to 400 ha, using solar-powered boreholes, improved seed and Good Agricultural Practices, the quality benchmark and a supply buffer.
  • Outgrower network. A structured contract-farming scheme scaling to 6,200+ smallholders across Kano/Jigawa, supported with inputs, extension, training and guaranteed offtake.
  • Central processing & export hub. Cleaning, de-stalking, grading, drying finish, metal detection, laboratory QC, dedicated fumigation, baling and export logistics.

Quality, phytosanitary control and logistics

The processing hub is engineered around the failure that closed the Mexican market. A dedicated fumigation facility (with controlled-atmosphere treatment as a methyl-bromide alternative), sealed-container loading, and pre-shipment laboratory screening for khapra beetle and aflatoxin make phytosanitary rejection a managed, not existential, risk. Traceability runs from registered farm plots through graded lots to container. Inland haulage moves product from Kano to Lagos/Onne under bonded, sealed conditions.
