12.1 Phase 1: Establishment (Months 1–12)
The establishment phase encompasses company incorporation, land acquisition and preparation, infrastructure development, and the first planting season. Key milestones include: company registration and regulatory compliance (Months 1–2); land acquisition, survey, and environmental assessments (Months 1–3); irrigation system design, procurement, and installation (Months 2–6); building construction including pack house, cold rooms, and staff facilities (Months 3–8); equipment procurement and commissioning (Months 3–6); soil preparation and conditioning (Months 4–6); first planting season at 50 hectares (Months 7–8, April–May); and first harvest and sales commencement (Months 14–16, November–January).
12.2 Phase 2: Growth (Months 13–36)
The growth phase focuses on production expansion, market development, and operational optimisation. Activities include expansion of planted area from 50 to 70 hectares, establishment of retail supply agreements with major supermarket chains, development of export channels into SADC markets, recruitment and training of additional farm workers, and refinement of agronomic practices based on first-season performance data.
12.3 Phase 3: Maturity and Value-Add (Months 37–60)
The maturity phase targets full production capacity, value-added product development, and preparation for expansion. Key activities include achievement of full 70-hectare production at target yields, launch of value-added product lines (dried garlic, paste, powder), investigation and planning for expansion to 120 hectares, brand building and premium market positioning, and exploration of European export opportunities.
