5.2 Quality Standards and Certifications

All products will comply with FSSC 22000, GlobalG.A.P., HACCP and applicable export phytosanitary requirements. The processing facility will be designed to meet the food safety and traceability standards demanded by US and European buyers, which have become increasingly stringent. Single-origin traceability from orchard to vacuum-packed carton will be a core differentiator in premium export markets.

5.3 Value-Add Strategy

Lowveld Gold will progressively shift its product mix towards higher-margin value-added products. In Year 1–3, the emphasis will be on bulk kernel exports to establish trade relationships. From Year 4 onwards, the Company will invest in roasting, oil-pressing and retail packaging lines. By Year 7, value-added products are projected to account for 30% of revenue. The growing domestic market, where macadamia oil is positioned as a healthier alternative to imported olive oil, represents a significant untapped opportunity. South Africa imports roughly 6,000 tonnes of olive oil annually, yet local macadamia oil production remains modest.

5.4 Competitive Advantages

The Company’s competitive advantage rests on four pillars. First, location: proximity to established processing infrastructure in White River and direct access to the Maputo Corridor for efficient export logistics. Second, cultivar superiority: selection of high-yield MCT-1 and Beaumont varieties optimised for whole-kernel recovery. Third, vertical integration: control of the entire value chain from planting through processing to branded product delivery. Fourth, sustainability: carbon-negative processing ambitions and community empowerment that resonate with ESG-conscious global buyers.
