13.1 Environmental Stewardship
GoldenYield Agri is committed to sustainable farming practices that minimise environmental impact while maintaining commercial viability. The Company will implement conservation agriculture principles including minimum tillage, crop rotation, and cover cropping to preserve soil health and reduce erosion. Water management will prioritise efficiency through precision irrigation technology, targeting water use of less than 500mm per hectare per season. An Environmental Management Plan (EMP) will be developed in compliance with the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) and maintained throughout operations.
13.2 Social Responsibility & B-BBEE
The Company’s B-BBEE strategy is integral to its business model, with 55% black ownership and a dedicated Employee Share Trust. The Company will invest in skills development for farm workers, provide above-minimum-wage employment with benefits, and contribute to community development initiatives in the Lichtenburg area. A formal Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme targeting 1% of annual revenue will support local education, healthcare, and agricultural training initiatives.
13.3 Governance Framework
GoldenYield Agri will establish a governance framework aligned with King IV principles, including an independent non-executive chairperson, an audit committee, and clear policies for conflict of interest, related-party transactions, and financial reporting. Annual audited financial statements will be prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for Small and Medium Enterprises, with quarterly management accounts provided to investors.
