5.2 Hub and Warehouse Specifications

The Upington operations centre will comprise a 2,500 m² warehouse facility with temperature-controlled storage capacity, a vehicle maintenance yard with inspection bays, a dispatch and operations office (250 m²), and a secure cargo marshalling area. The facility will be leased on a five-year term with an option to renew. Estimated monthly lease cost is ZAR 180,000, with a fit-out and equipment budget of ZAR 15 million.

5.3 Operational Workflow

The operational process follows a structured five-stage workflow: Stage 1 is Pickup, where cargo is collected at client premises in South Africa or Namibia. Stage 2 is Sorting and Consolidation at the Upington hub, where shipments are sorted by destination and consolidated for efficient transit. Stage 3 is Customs Pre-clearance, where electronic documentation is submitted to SARS and Namibian customs in advance of border transit at Vioolsdrif. Stage 4 is Transit and Delivery, where goods are transported to destination hubs or delivered directly to the end customer. Stage 5 is Return and Optimisation, where vehicles are routed to maximise backhaul utilisation and reduce empty kilometres.
