While the founding shareholders are committed to building SafeHome Pest Solutions as a long-term, sustainable business, a clear exit strategy provides investors with visibility on potential liquidity events and return realisation. The following exit options are available:
Strategic Sale
The South African pest control industry has experienced significant consolidation, with international players (Rentokil, Anticimex) and national operators actively acquiring regional businesses with established client bases and recurring revenue streams. A strategic sale to an industry acquirer at Year 5–7 represents the most likely and attractive exit option, with typical transaction multiples of 5–7x EBITDA for well-managed, growing pest control businesses.
Management Buyout (MBO)
If external sale opportunities are not attractive, a management buyout facilitated by a combination of senior debt and mezzanine financing provides an alternative exit for non-management shareholders while ensuring business continuity and preservation of client relationships.
Private Equity Investment
At the appropriate scale (typically R20 million+ revenue), SafeHome could attract private equity investment to fund accelerated national expansion. A partial exit through a PE transaction would provide early liquidity for founding shareholders while retaining management equity and incentive alignment for the next growth phase.
