SafeRide’s technology platform is a core strategic asset and competitive differentiator. The platform will be built as a cloud-native, microservices-based insurance management system hosted on Microsoft Azure’s South African data centres (Johannesburg and Cape Town regions), ensuring data sovereignty compliance under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
7.2 Platform Architecture
The platform consists of five integrated modules:

Policy Administration System (PAS): Manages the complete policy lifecycle including quotation, underwriting, issuance, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations. Automated underwriting rules engine with manual referral for high-risk cases.

Claims Management System (CMS): End-to-end claims processing from first notification of loss (FNOL) through assessment, approval, and settlement. AI-powered damage assessment using computer vision on uploaded photographs. Integration with panel beater and towing service networks.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM): 360-degree customer view integrating policy data, claims history, communication preferences, and satisfaction scores. Automated communication triggers for policy events.

Business Intelligence and Analytics: Real-time dashboards for premium tracking, claims ratios, customer acquisition metrics, and fraud detection. Predictive analytics for risk pricing and churn prevention.

7.4 Data Protection and POPIA Compliance
SafeRide will implement comprehensive data protection measures in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This includes appointing a dedicated Information Officer, implementing data encryption at rest and in transit, maintaining detailed data processing registers, and establishing lawful bases for all personal information processing. Regular POPIA compliance audits will be conducted by an independent external assessor.
