15.1 Job Creation

SparkClean will create 25 direct full-time employment positions at launch, scaling to over 80 positions by Year 5 as the business expands. The Company prioritises the employment of youth (18–35 years) and women, with a target of 60% female representation in the workforce. All positions comply with the National Minimum Wage Act and include benefits such as UIF registration, annual leave, and skills development opportunities.

15.2 Skills Development

The Company will invest a minimum of 2% of annual payroll in skills development programmes, including NQF-aligned learnership programmes for laundry technicians, driver training and vehicle maintenance courses, digital literacy training, and supervisory development for high-potential staff.

15.3 Environmental Sustainability

  • Water-efficient commercial washing machines that use 40% less water than household units

  • Water recycling system targeting 30% greywater reuse by Year 2

  • Biodegradable and phosphate-free detergents sourced from local suppliers

  • Energy-efficient equipment and LED lighting throughout the facility

  • Solar panel installation planned for Year 3 to reduce grid dependence

  • Responsible chemical waste management in compliance with the National Environmental Management Act

15.4 Community Development

SparkClean will allocate 1% of annual net profit to community development initiatives, including sponsorship of local sports teams, bursary contributions for students from surrounding communities, and participation in clothing donation drives in partnership with recognised NGOs.
