6.1 Core honey products

  • Raw natural honey — multifloral and monofloral (including fynbos), unheated and minimally filtered to preserve character.

  • Organic-certified honey — the premium tier, targeting wellness consumers and export buyers.

  • Branded retail jars — “Ambercrest Reserve Honey” in 250g, 500g and gift formats for retail and direct-to-consumer.

  • Bulk honey — drummed supply to food manufacturers and ingredient buyers, providing volume offtake and capacity utilisation.

6.2 Value-added by-products

By-products convert what would otherwise be waste or surplus hive output into high-margin revenue, and deepen the brand into adjacent wellness and cosmetic categories. Indicative product formats and pricing across the core honey range are shown below.

  • Beeswax — for candles, cosmetics and food-grade applications.

  • Propolis — a high-value health-supplement input.

  • Royal jelly — a niche, premium wellness product.

  • Honey-based skincare — a brand extension into natural cosmetics.

  • Nucleus colonies and queens — sold to other beekeepers, monetising the company’s breeding capability.

6.3 Pollination services

Ambercrest will provide commercial migratory pollination to Western Cape orchards and berry farms, principally apples, pears, plums and blueberries. Pollination is priced per hive-placement against the WCBA/SABIO industry guideline, generates contracted spring income ahead of the honey flow, and builds the farmer relationships that anchor the company in the regional agricultural ecosystem.

Unit economics snapshot (Year 5, indicative) Hive base: 5,000 hives (year-end) • Honey output: ~125 tonnes • Avg yield: ~26 kg per productive hive. Pollination: ~2,000 hive-placements at ~R1,760 per placement. Blended realised honey price: ~R180–R200 per kg across retail, bulk and export channels.
