EcoCycle Solutions provides end-to-end waste management services designed to serve the full value chain from waste generation to final disposal or recycling. The operational model centres on a hub-and-spoke system. A central sorting and processing facility in Pretoria will serve as the primary hub, with a fleet of GPS-tracked collection vehicles executing scheduled and on-demand collection routes across the Tshwane metropolitan area. The sorting facility will incorporate semi-automated sorting lines for paper, plastics, metals, glass, and organic waste, enabling material recovery rates significantly above the industry average.
Core service lines include scheduled and on-demand commercial and industrial waste collection, waste sorting and material recovery (including paper, plastic, metals, glass, and organic waste), recycling processing and sales of recovered materials to offtake partners, residual waste disposal through licensed landfill partners, and ESG compliance reporting and waste audit services for corporate clients.
2.3 Legal Structure and Compliance
EcoCycle Solutions will be incorporated as a private company under the Companies Act 71 of 2008. The company will obtain all necessary licences and permits including a Waste Management Licence from GDARD in terms of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, waste transporter registration with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), and municipal business licensing from the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality.
The company will maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993), the National Road Traffic Act for fleet operations, and all applicable environmental legislation. An Environmental Management Plan will be developed and submitted as part of the licensing process.
