Company Overview

2.1 Company Description

Eternal Rest Funeral Services (Pty) Ltd is a private company incorporated under the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The company will operate as a licensed funeral parlour and full-service funeral management provider, headquartered in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The registered office will be located at the company’s primary funeral home facility, which will serve as both the operational base and client-facing premises.

The company’s principal activities will encompass the full value chain of funeral and bereavement services, including but not limited to: funeral planning and management; embalming and body preparation; the sale of coffins, caskets, and urns; transportation services (hearses and family limousines); funeral and memorial ceremony coordination; grief counselling and post-funeral support services; and the administration of pre-paid funeral plans.

2.2 Legal Structure and Registration

Eternal Rest Funeral Services will be registered as a private company (Proprietary Limited) with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) of South Africa. The company will comply with all applicable South African legislation, including the Companies Act 71 of 2008, the Births and Deaths Registration Act 51 of 1992, the National Health Act 61 of 2003, and all provincial funeral industry regulations.

Key regulatory registrations and licences required include:

2.3 Business Model

Eternal Rest operates a hybrid business model combining immediate service revenue with recurring subscription income. The three core revenue pillars are:

Funeral Services and Packages (53% of revenue): Comprehensive funeral packages ranging from standard (R15,000–R25,000)
to premium (R40,000–R80,000) offerings, including all aspects of funeral
coordination, transportation, and ceremony management. Revenue is
recognised upon service delivery.

Pre-Paid and Subscription Plans (33% of revenue): Monthly subscription plans ranging from R150 to R500 per month,
providing policyholders with funeral cover that can be redeemed for
services. This stream provides predictable, recurring revenue and
creates a client pipeline for future service delivery. Plans are
structured to comply with the Long-Term Insurance Act or will be
administered through a licensed insurer.

Coffin and Memorial Product Sales (14% of revenue): Direct sale of coffins, caskets, urns, memorial plaques, and floral
arrangements. Gross margins on products typically range from 40–60%,
providing a high-margin complementary revenue stream.
