Kasi Prime Butchery is not just a business — it is an economic engine for the communities it serves. Township businesses play a disproportionately important role in local economic development because they keep money circulating within the community, create jobs for local residents, and provide essential services that improve quality of life.

Job Creation Impact

Phase Direct Jobs Indirect Jobs Total Impact
Year 1 (1 store) 8 5 – 8 13 – 16
Year 3 (2 stores) 18 10 – 15 28 – 33
Year 5 (5 stores) 42+ 25 – 35 67 – 77

Indirect jobs include delivery drivers, cleaning services, security personnel, accountants, and the upstream employment at abattoirs and farms supported by our purchasing volumes. Each store also supports the livelihoods of informal vendors and shisanyama operators who purchase bulk meat from us.

Community Investment Commitments

Kasi Prime Butchery commits to allocating 1% of annual net profit to community development initiatives, including sponsorship of local youth soccer teams and school feeding schemes, an annual bursary for a local student pursuing food science or business studies, free meat donations for community events such as Mandela Day (18 July) and Heritage Day (24 September), and a skills development programme offering butchery apprenticeships to unemployed youth. These commitments are not charitable afterthoughts — they are integral to the brand’s positioning as a community-owned institution and will be prominently communicated in all marketing materials.

B-BBEE Contribution

As a 100% black-owned enterprise operating in a previously disadvantaged community, Kasi Prime Butchery will qualify for Level 1 B-BBEE status. This is a significant competitive advantage when pursuing supply contracts with government institutions, schools, hospitals, and corporate clients, and positions the business favourably for continued access to development finance.
