21.1 Inbound Logistics

The inbound supply chain for Pork Master Farms comprises primarily feed ingredients, veterinary supplies, and general farm consumables. The strategic location near Potchefstroom provides excellent access to the maize-producing regions of the North West and Free State provinces, as well as the major agricultural input suppliers based in the broader Gauteng and North West corridor.

Feed ingredients will be sourced from a minimum of three approved suppliers to ensure supply continuity and competitive pricing. All inbound feed deliveries will be subject to biosecurity protocols, including vehicle disinfection and quality sampling upon arrival. The on-farm feed mill and 200-tonne storage capacity will provide a buffer of approximately four to six weeks of feed supply, protecting against short-term supply disruptions and enabling bulk purchasing at favourable prices.

21.2 Outbound Logistics

Outbound logistics involves the transport of live market-ready pigs from the farm to abattoirs and other customers. This is a critical operational function, as live animal transport must comply with animal welfare regulations, is time-sensitive to maintain meat quality, and represents a significant cost item. The Company will initially outsource live animal transport to specialist livestock transport companies, with the option to acquire its own livestock transport vehicles from Year 3 onwards.

Logistics Item Approach Estimated Annual Cost (ZAR)
Live Animal Transport to Abattoirs Outsourced specialist hauliers; 2-3 preferred providers 960,000 – 1,200,000
Feed Ingredient Delivery Supplier-arranged delivery; bulk tankers Included in feed price
General Supplies Transport Company bakkie and light delivery vehicle 180,000
Breeding Stock Transport Specialist biosecure transport 60,000
Product Delivery (Future Phase 2) Refrigerated delivery vehicles To be budgeted

21.3 Key Supplier Relationships

The Company will establish formal supply agreements with critical input providers to ensure continuity of supply and favourable commercial terms. Key supplier categories include feed ingredient suppliers (maize, soya, premixes), veterinary pharmaceutical companies, genetic suppliers for replacement breeding stock, and equipment maintenance service providers. The procurement policy will require a minimum of three quotes for all purchases above ZAR 25,000, with all major supply contracts subject to approval by the Managing Director.
