Strategic Plan

Jump to section

The strategy is expressed through a simple, disciplined framework: where to play, how to win, the capabilities required, and the management systems to sustain it.

Dimension

NWAF choice

Where to play

Mid-tier and emerging livestock/poultry farmers, feedlots, dairies and agri-retailers within economic delivery range of Potchefstroom; poultry-anchored, multi-species; bulk and bagged.

How to win

Service and flexibility, not scale: responsiveness, custom formulation, technical support, reliable regional supply, disciplined pass-through pricing.

Capabilities required

Consistent milling & QC, strong nutrition, disciplined procurement, technical selling, credit control, and the capital to fund the ramp.

Management systems

Contribution-per-tonne reporting, integrated procurement–sales–production planning, credit-limit controls, and a KPI dashboard tied to cash and covenant metrics.

Three-to-five-year priorities

  1. Fill the plant. Secure anchor offtake and ramp to extended-hours operation, the single most important value driver.
  2. Protect the spread. Embed the pass-through pricing mechanism and procurement discipline that defend gross contribution per tonne.
  3. Shift the mix. Grow custom, private-label and supplement lines to lift blended margin.
  4. Build the brand and network. Establish the retailer and distributor network and a technically credible reputation.
  5. Prepare the next leg. Position the site and balance sheet for capacity expansion and selective vertical integration once utilisation is proven.
