BuildCore Retail Group represents a scalable, cash-generative retail
platform positioned to benefit from South Africa’s long-term housing and
infrastructure needs. The business combines essential products,
defensive demand fundamentals, high-volume retail economics, strong
cash-flow generation and significant market-fragmentation opportunity —
the same characteristics that have made mass-market building-materials
retail one of the most resilient retail categories in the country.
The plan set out in this document is deliberately conservative: it
assumes a measured, feasibility-led rollout; modest per-store
productivity relative to mature incumbents; gradual margin expansion;
and a prudent capital structure that keeps the business fully funded and
lowly geared throughout. On these assumptions the Group reaches
approximately R3.0 billion of revenue and R274 million of EBITDA by Year
5, turns net-profitable in Year 4, and supports an attractive investor
return with substantial additional upside from regional expansion.
BuildCore aims to become one of South Africa’s — and ultimately the
region’s — leading affordable construction-retail and building-materials
