Company Overview

The vision, mission and mandate, the corporate structure and divisions, the brand architecture and the five-year strategic objectives underpinning Karoo Rabbit Protein.

2.1 Vision, Mission & Mandate

Vision. To make lean, sustainable, ethically
produced rabbit protein a mainstream feature of the South African diet,
and to position the country as a credible rabbit-protein exporter on the
strength of its disease-free herd status.

Mission. To build and operate the integrated supply
chain — genetics, feed, contract production, processing and cold chain —
that the rabbit-protein category requires to become investable,
traceable and reliably available at retail and food-service scale.

Mandate. To deliver competitive risk-adjusted
returns to investors while creating durable economic inclusion for
smallholder and emerging farmers through a managed, guaranteed-offtake
grower network.

2.2 Corporate Structure & Divisions

The Company is structured as a single operating entity with four
functional divisions, each mapped to a distinct node of the value chain
and, where relevant, a distinct revenue stream:

KRP Genetics Owns and manages the nucleus breeding herd and multiplier units;
supplies improved breeding stock to the grower network and to third
parties; protects the Company’s core biological IP.
KRP Feed Operates the central feed mill, formulating species-specific rabbit rations and supplying the grower network at controlled cost and quality.
KarooLean Grower Network (KGN) Recruits, trains, equips and supervises contract growers under guaranteed-offtake agreements; the asset-light engine of live-animal supply.
KRP Processing & Brands Operates the HACCP abattoir and value-added processing plant; owns the cold chain; builds and markets the KarooLean™ (premium) and Pure Protein (everyday) consumer brands.

2.3 Brand Architecture

The Karoo name deliberately borrows the premium provenance
association that the region already carries in South African red meat,
signalling natural, free-range, heritage-quality protein. The brand
portfolio is tiered to address distinct customer segments without
cannibalisation:

  • KarooLean™ — premium fresh and value-added
rabbit for affluent retail and fine food-service; the margin and
    brand-equity anchor.
  • Pure Protein — everyday frozen portions and
accessible formats targeting value-conscious households and mass
    retail.
  • KRP Genetics — business-to-business
breeding-stock brand for growers and other producers.

2.4 Strategic Objectives (Five-Year)

  1. Commission the integrated platform — nucleus, feed mill, abattoir
and cold chain — within the first 24 months.
  2. Scale the contract-grower network from 40 to 520 active farms,
    building biosecurity-controlled live supply.
  3. Reach approximately 1.56 million rabbits processed and roughly
1,950 tons of sellable meat by Year 5.
  4. Shift the sales mix progressively toward value-added and export
    channels to lift blended margin.
  5. Achieve EBITDA breakeven in Year 3 and sustainable net
    profitability from Year 4.
  6. Establish export-readiness (accreditation and first shipments)
    leveraging disease-free status.
