Implementation Roadmap

An 18-month implementation timeline from project kickoff to commercial production, with critical milestones, a critical-path analysis centred on EIA approval, and a structured 12-month post-commissioning ramp-up plan…

8.1 Project Timeline & Gantt Chart

The project follows an 18-month implementation timeline from kickoff to commercial production. The Gantt chart below illustrates the critical path, dependencies, and key milestones:

8.3 Critical Path Analysis

The critical path runs through the following sequence: EIA approval (Month 5) → Financial Close (Month 7) → Civil Works (Months 7–14) → Equipment Installation (Months 12–15) → Commissioning (Months 16–17) → Commercial Operations (Month 18). The primary schedule risk is the EIA approval timeline, which can extend to 6–9 months in complex cases. MMM has mitigated this by engaging an experienced Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with a strong track record in food processing facilities and initiating the Basic Assessment process in parallel with feasibility work.

8.4 Post-Commissioning Ramp-Up Plan

The first 12 months of operations follow a structured ramp-up plan:

Phase Timeline Capacity Target Key Activities
Trial Production Month 1 20–30% Equipment fine-tuning, product quality validation
Soft Launch Months 2–3 30–40% Local market seeding, retailer trials
Regional Expansion Months 4–6 40–50% Mpumalanga + Gauteng east coverage
Growth Phase Months 7–12 50–60% Full Gauteng, wholesale expansion
Steady Growth Year 2 60–70% KZN + Free State, private label contracts
