Funding Strategy & Capital Structure

17.3 Government Funding Programmes
Several South African development finance institutions actively fund black-owned retail businesses:

National Empowerment Fund (NEF): Provides equity and loan funding of R250,000–R75 million for B-BBEE-compliant businesses. The NEF’s Entrepreneurship Finance division specifically targets startup and early-stage ventures in retail and services.
