16.1 Job Creation
LuxCity Traveller Coachlines is committed to creating sustainable employment opportunities in South Africa, a country with an unemployment rate exceeding 32%. The Company will directly employ 35 people in Year 1, with projected growth to 55+ employees by Year 5 as the fleet and route network expand. The majority of positions will be created in historically disadvantaged communities within Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
Beyond direct employment, the Company will generate significant indirect employment through its supply chain, including fuel suppliers, vehicle maintenance providers, insurance brokers, IT service providers, marketing agencies, cleaning services and transit hub lessors. The estimated indirect employment multiplier for the intercity coach sector is 5:1, meaning CTC’s operations will support approximately 175 indirect jobs.

The Company will partner with established NGOs and community organisations to maximise the impact of its CSI investments.
Additionally, CTC will offer discounted fares for orphanages, children’s homes and verified charitable organisations, and will provide free transport for community events in partnership with local government.
16.4 Environmental Sustainability
The Company’s environmental strategy is built on four pillars: (i) fleet efficiency through modern Euro 5-compliant engines that minimise emissions per passenger-kilometre; (ii) operational optimisation through route planning and eco-driving training to reduce fuel consumption; (iii) waste reduction through digital ticketing (eliminating paper tickets), electronic invoicing and paperless office operations; and (iv) community engagement through participation in Arbor Day plantings and clean-up campaigns in communities served by CTC routes.
The Company will track and report its carbon footprint on an annual basis, benchmarking against industry standards and setting year-on-year reduction targets. The long-term aspiration is to evaluate and adopt alternative fuel technologies (compressed natural gas, hydrogen fuel cells or battery-electric coaches) as they become commercially viable in the South African market.
