Aurum Grill Business Plan — Company Overview

Section 2 · 3 of 29

Company Overview

Aurum Grill™ (“Aurum Grill”, “AG” or “the Company”) is a proposed South African quick-service restaurant and franchise platform. The name derives from aurum, the Latin word for gold, chosen to signal premium quality, enduring value, operational excellence and long-term wealth creation.

The brand identity is engineered to communicate premium accessibility, urban sophistication, African ambition and scalable modern convenience, positioning Aurum Grill in the white space between traditional value fast food and premium casual dining.

Corporate architecture

The platform is designed as an integrated group combining several complementary profit centres under common brand, technology and supply-chain control:

  • Corporate restaurant division — 20 company-owned flagship stores concentrated in high-traffic Gauteng nodes, serving as brand anchors, format laboratories and training academies.
  • Franchise division — a controlled network scaling to 80 franchised restaurants, generating initial fees, royalties and marketing levies.
  • Property division — strategic site control through ownership and head-leasing of premium locations, sub-let to corporate and franchise operators to capture real-estate value and secure the network’s most valuable positions.
  • Supply-chain division — a central commissary, cold-chain and national procurement function generating supplier rebates and enforcing quality and cost discipline across the system.
  • Digital division — a proprietary mobile-ordering, loyalty and analytics ecosystem that reduces delivery-platform dependence and monetises first-party customer data.

StrengthDiversified, self-reinforcing revenue architecture

The five divisions are mutually reinforcing: corporate stores prove formats and de-risk franchising; the franchise network amplifies procurement scale and brand reach; property control secures the best sites and adds annuity rental income; the supply chain protects margins; and the digital platform compounds customer lifetime value across every store. This structure is materially more defensible than a single-format restaurant operator.

It is envisaged that the group will operate through a holding company (Aurum Grill Holdings) with ring-fenced operating subsidiaries for the corporate restaurant, property and supply-chain activities. This separation supports clean franchise accounting, isolates property assets for potential future REIT or sale-and-leaseback optimisation, and provides lenders with clearly identifiable security pools. Governance, food-safety, internal-audit and anti-corruption frameworks are described in Section 18.
