Business Model Architecture
The integrated operating system, how value is captured, and the scalability and modularity of the platform.
KarooPrime Capretto operates an integrated “farm-to-fork” model in
which the Company controls or coordinates each link of the value chain,
capturing margin and quality at every stage while sharing value with its
farmer base to secure supply.
6.1 The integrated operating system
The architecture connects five operating subsystems — procurement,
feedlot, processing, logistics and market — around a central data and
traceability backbone. Animals and information flow forward from farm to
customer; payments, inputs and breeding support flow back to farmers;
and the traceability system records every movement for food-safety and
export compliance.
6.2 How value is captured
The Company captures value through four mechanisms: (1) the
procurement-to-finished-carcass spread; (2) the formal-versus-informal
price premium unlocked by grading and accreditation; (3) fifth-quarter
and value-added recovery; and (4) the export premium available to
accredited halaal suppliers. Together these convert a low-value informal
commodity into a graded, branded, multi-channel protein business.
6.3 Scalability and modularity
The model is deliberately modular. The core processing plant can be
debottlenecked and expanded in stages; feedlot and aggregation capacity
can be added regionally as the supply base grows; and the export
programme can be widened destination-by-destination as accreditations
are secured. This phasing allows capital to be deployed in line with
demonstrated demand and supply, reducing execution risk.
