Environmental, social and governance performance is integral to the
Company’s strategy and to its appeal to development finance and impact
capital.

21.1 Environmental

Goats are efficient converters of marginal, semi-arid rangeland into
high-quality protein, with a comparatively low environmental footprint
among red meats. The Company further reduces impact through effluent
treatment, by-product rendering, water-use efficiency at the plant and
support for climate-resilient, low-input production systems among its
farmers.

21.2 Social

The model integrates emerging and smallholder farmers into formal
markets, creates direct and indirect rural employment, raises producer
incomes and advances food security. It is structured to deliver
measurable, reportable social impact — producers contracted, jobs
created, incomes lifted and skills transferred.

21.3 Governance

The Company adopts an investment-grade governance framework: an
independent-leaning board, audit and risk oversight, transparent
reporting, B-BBEE compliance and rigorous food-safety and welfare
governance. Strong governance is a prerequisite for institutional and
DFI capital.

21.4 Alignment with FAO principles

The model aligns with FAO sustainable-livestock frameworks across
inclusive value chains, smallholder integration into formal markets,
food-security enhancement, sustainable livestock intensification and
climate-resilient protein systems — reinforcing its eligibility for
blended and concessional finance.
