The product lines and the branding underpinning the product portfolio strategy.
The Company’s product strategy maximises the value extracted from
each animal by serving multiple price points and channels, from premium
branded cuts to value-added and fifth-quarter products.
13.1 Product lines
- Chilled premium cuts — graded, branded chilled
chevon for premium domestic retail and high-end foodservice. - Frozen carcasses & cuts — blast-frozen
product for export and wholesale, with extended shelf life. - Value-added products — portioned, marinated,
sausage and ready-to-cook lines targeting urban retail and convenience
channels. - Fifth-quarter products — offal, skins, rendered
fat and rendered protein, monetising parts the informal chain
discards.
13.2 Branding
In a category that is today almost entirely unbranded, a trusted,
traceable consumer brand is a powerful differentiator. The KarooPrime
Capretto brand will signal food safety, halaal integrity, ethical
sourcing and South African provenance — attributes that command premiums
in both domestic premium retail and export markets.
