Conclusion
The closing investment case summarising why Solstice Energy represents a bankable, PPA-backed renewable-energy opportunity for investors and lenders.
Solstice Energy (Pty) Ltd represents a highly bankable, DFI-aligned
infrastructure investment that combines predictable long-term contracted
cash flows with meaningful development impact and strong ESG
credentials. The project benefits from South Africa’s world-class solar
resource, a proven and expanding regulatory framework, compelling
economics that position solar PV as the cheapest source of new
electricity generation, and a growing market driven by structural demand
drivers that are unlikely to reverse over the project’s 25-year
life.
The total project cost of ZAR 1.85 billion is conservatively
structured with a 70/30 debt-equity split, supported by a base case
project IRR of 16.8%, an equity IRR of 22.5%, a minimum DSCR of 1.35x,
and comprehensive risk mitigation through fixed-price EPC contracts,
inflation-indexed PPA revenues, and P90 debt sizing. The project will
avoid approximately 230,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually, create hundreds of
construction and permanent jobs, and deliver direct financial benefits
to local communities through the trust ownership structure.
The management team is committed to delivering a project that meets
the highest standards of technical excellence, financial discipline,
environmental stewardship, and community engagement. Solstice Energy
invites qualified investors, development finance institutions, and
strategic partners to engage with this opportunity to participate in
South Africa’s accelerating energy transition.
