Technology & Digital Strategy

CAE’s technology infrastructure is designed to support scalable operations, provide real-time visibility across the supply chain, and deliver a differentiated digital experience to US dealer partners. The technology stack comprises four integrated layers.

17.1 Technology Architecture

CAE’s technology infrastructure is designed to support scalable operations, provide real-time visibility across the supply chain, and deliver a differentiated digital experience to US dealer partners. The technology stack comprises four integrated layers.

Layer System Purpose Investment (Year 1)
Enterprise Operations SAP Business One Financial management, procurement, inventory USD 35,000
Customer Management Salesforce CRM Dealer relationships, pipeline, communications USD 15,000
Logistics & Trade CargoWise One Freight forwarding, customs, shipment tracking USD 12,000
Digital Commerce Custom B2B Portal Dealer inventory browsing, ordering, tracking USD 18,000

17.2 B2B Digital Platform

The proprietary B2B digital platform is a key differentiator for CAE, providing US dealer partners with 24/7 access to available inventory, real-time pricing, and self-service order management. The platform will be developed in phases.

Phase 1 (Month 5–7): Core Platform

  • Vehicle inventory catalogue with specifications, images, and pricing

  • Quote request and order placement functionality

  • User account management and dealer verification

Phase 2 (Month 8–12): Enhanced Features

  • Real-time shipment tracking with GPS and ETA updates

  • Document management portal (compliance certificates, shipping docs)

  • Automated order confirmation and invoicing

Phase 3 (Month 13–18): Advanced Capabilities

  • Predictive analytics for demand forecasting and inventory optimisation

  • AI-powered vehicle recommendation engine based on dealer purchase patterns

  • Integration with major US dealer management systems (DMS)

17.3 Data Analytics and Business Intelligence

From Year 2, CAE will invest in a business intelligence layer that provides management with real-time dashboards covering sales pipeline and conversion metrics, supply chain performance (lead times, port dwell times, compliance turnaround), financial performance against budget and forecast, US market demand signals and pricing intelligence, and customer satisfaction and retention analytics.

This data-driven approach will enable proactive decision-making, optimise inventory allocation, and identify emerging market opportunities ahead of competitors.

17.4 Cybersecurity Framework

Given the cross-border nature of operations and the sensitivity of financial and customer data, CAE will implement a comprehensive cybersecurity framework aligned with the ISO 27001 standard. Key elements include multi-factor authentication across all systems, end-to-end encryption for data in transit and at rest, regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, employee cybersecurity awareness training, incident response planning and regular drill exercises, and cyber insurance coverage (included in the insurance programme detailed in Section 11).
