13.1 Environmental

Solar-Powered Refrigeration: A 500 kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic system will be installed during Phase 2 (Year 3), reducing grid dependency by an estimated 15 to 20 percent and lowering the facility’s carbon footprint by approximately 500 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per annum.

Energy Efficiency: Ammonia-based refrigeration systems offer significantly lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to synthetic refrigerants. Variable-speed compressors and high-performance insulation further reduce energy consumption per pallet by an estimated 20 percent compared to industry average.

Food Waste Reduction: By providing reliable, uninterrupted cold chain services, the Company directly contributes to reducing post-harvest food losses, which are estimated at 30 to 40 percent of perishable production in developing markets.
