Goldenveld Grain recognises the importance of responsible farming within the Swartland’s sensitive Mediterranean ecosystem. The Company’s sustainability commitments include conservation tillage practices to reduce soil erosion and improve soil carbon sequestration, integrated pest management to minimise agrochemical use, water stewardship aligned with catchment management guidelines, protection and rehabilitation of natural renosterveld remnants on the farm, local employment creation with a focus on skills transfer and youth development, and contribution to food security through increased domestic wheat supply.
The Company will report annually against a simplified ESG framework aligned with the principles of the King IV Report on Corporate Governance and relevant international best practices for agricultural enterprises.
