6.1 Site Selection: Bothaville, Free State

The selection of Bothaville as the plant location is a deliberate strategic decision driven by proximity to raw material sources, logistics cost optimisation, and access to key customer markets. Bothaville is situated in the heart of South Africa’s maize triangle, within 50 kilometres of major grain silo facilities operated by Senwes and NWK.

The Free State province accounts for approximately 35–40% of South Africa’s total maize production, providing Granvora Feeds with unrivalled access to its primary raw material at farm-gate prices. This proximity advantage translates into a 15–20% reduction in inbound transport costs relative to feed mills located in Gauteng or KwaZulu-Natal.
