Human Capital & ESG Strategy
The organisational design and workforce plan, talent and culture, and the ESG strategy underpinning the bank’s people and sustainability agenda.
11.1 Organisational Design & Workforce Plan
OptimaBank’s organisation is intentionally lean relative to incumbent
banks of comparable balance-sheet size, reflecting its automation-led
model. The projected Year-5 workforce, weighted toward technology and
customer-facing functions, is set out below.
| Division | Year 5 headcount | Share of total |
|---|---|---|
| Retail Banking | 1,200 | 28% |
| SME Banking | 800 | 19% |
| Corporate & Investment Banking | 450 | 11% |
| Technology & Data | 900 | 21% |
| Risk & Compliance | 300 | 7% |
| Operations | 600 | 14% |
| Total | 4,250 | 100% |
10.2 Talent & Culture
The bank will recruit a blend of seasoned banking leadership — to
ensure prudential and credit discipline — and high-calibre technology
and data talent. A performance-oriented, mission-driven culture,
competitive equity participation and a strong emphasis on diversity and
local skills development are central to attracting and retaining this
talent in a competitive market.
10.3 ESG Strategy
Sustainability is integral to OptimaBank’s mandate and to its appeal
to development-finance and impact-oriented investors:
- Financial inclusion: Extending affordable,
responsible financial services to under-served and previously excluded
customers. - SME empowerment: Dedicated SME and women-owned
business lending programmes that support jobs and
formalisation. - Green finance: Financing of renewable energy,
electric mobility and sustainable infrastructure. - Digital literacy: Digital and financial-literacy
initiatives to deepen healthy financial behaviour. - Governance: Robust governance, transparency and
conduct standards aligned with King V.
