13.1 Job Creation
PetroStation SA will create 24 to 28 permanent jobs in Year 1, with an additional 4 to 6 positions expected by Year 3. At least 85% of staff will be recruited from the surrounding community. The forecourt attendant positions, which constitute the largest employment category, provide entry-level employment opportunities with structured on-the-job training and career progression pathways to shift supervisor and assistant manager roles.
13.2 B-BBEE Contribution
As a 100% Black-owned enterprise, PetroStation SA will achieve maximum scores on the ownership and management control elements of the B-BBEE scorecard. The business targets Level 2 contributor status within the first two years, supported by investments in skills development (1.5% of payroll), enterprise and supplier development through local procurement preferences, and socio-economic development through community investment. This B-BBEE status will be instrumental in securing government fleet fuel supply contracts and corporate procurement opportunities.
13.3 Community Investment
PetroStation SA will allocate 1% of net profit (from Year 3 onward) to a community investment fund supporting local education, youth sports, and road safety awareness programmes. The station will also serve as a community safety point, providing a well-lit, monitored, and staffed location where residents can access emergency assistance at any time of day or night.
