The SEDFA Document Pack: What to Have Ready
Assemble everything before you open the application form. Incomplete packs are the largest single cause of avoidable delay, and a file that sits in a queue waiting for one missing certificate can lose a month.

Section 7Core pack — every applicant
| Document | What good looks like |

| CIPC registration certificate | Current, with annual returns filed and up to date |
| SARS tax compliance status PIN | Must be valid on the date of submission, not merely once issued |
| Certified ID copies | All directors, members or shareholders |
| Six months of business bank statements | Stamped or downloaded directly from the bank; must reconcile to your figures |
| Business plan | With a market section that cites evidence, not adjectives |
| Financial projections | Monthly for year one, annual thereafter, with stated assumptions |
| Proof of business address | Lease agreement or utility account |
| B-BBEE affidavit or certificate | An affidavit is sufficient for most EMEs |

| Trading over 12 months | Annual financial statements or a signed management pack |
| Applying for a bridging loan | The signed contract, purchase order or offtake agreement, plus the buyer’s details |
| Applying for asset finance | Formal supplier quotations, usually more than one |
| A co-operative | Constitution, registration certificate and a resolution signed by a representative of all members |
| Amavulandlela | Medical or other acceptable proof of disability |
| Inyamazane | Proof of military veteran status |
| A regulated activity | The relevant licence, permit or accreditation |
