Supply Chain and Procurement

SparkleClean SA is committed to using exclusively South African-manufactured, eco-friendly cleaning products. This supports the company’s environmental values, reduces supply chain risk, and aligns with B-BBEE procurement requirements. 10D.1 Cleaning Products Sourcing

SparkleClean SA is committed to using exclusively South African-manufactured, eco-friendly cleaning products. This supports the company’s environmental values, reduces supply chain risk, and aligns with B-BBEE procurement requirements. Primary supplier selection criteria include biodegradable and non-toxic formulations, SABS certification, competitive bulk pricing, reliable supply and delivery, and B-BBEE contributor status (Level 1–3 preferred).

The company will negotiate bulk purchasing agreements with 2–3 approved suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and supply continuity. Initial product categories include multi-surface concentrates (diluted on-site for cost efficiency), bathroom and toilet cleaners, glass and mirror cleaning solutions, floor cleaners (tile, wood, laminate-specific), degreasing agents for kitchen use, microfibre cloths and mop heads, and biodegradable bin liners.

Monthly consumable costs are estimated at R4,000–R5,000 in Year 1, scaling proportionally with the number of cleaning teams. By negotiating annual supply contracts, the company targets a 15–20% discount versus retail pricing.

10D.2 Equipment Procurement and Maintenance

Equipment procurement follows a standardised kit approach. Each cleaning team is equipped with an identical “cleaning caddy” containing all necessary tools and products for any residential clean. This standardisation ensures consistent service quality regardless of which team is deployed and simplifies inventory management and replenishment.

Equipment maintenance follows a preventive schedule. Vacuum cleaners are serviced quarterly, vehicle maintenance follows manufacturer-recommended intervals, and all equipment is inspected weekly by team leaders. A replacement reserve of R3,000 per month is budgeted for equipment wear and tear, with major replacements (vehicles, commercial vacuums) capitalised and depreciated over their useful life.

10D.3 Fleet Management

The company’s vehicle fleet is essential for transporting teams and equipment to client locations. The initial fleet of 2 pre-owned panel vans (estimated R90,000 each) will be branded with SparkleClean SA livery, serving as mobile advertising in target suburbs. Fleet management includes comprehensive vehicle insurance, fuel card system (e.g., WesBank or Absa Fleet) for monitoring and controlling fuel costs, GPS tracking for route optimisation and security, regular servicing per manufacturer schedule, and daily vehicle inspection checklists completed by team leaders. Monthly fleet costs (fuel, insurance, maintenance) are estimated at R6,000 per vehicle, totalling R12,000 for the initial two-vehicle fleet and scaling to R30,000 by Year 3 with five vehicles.
