Target Market & Customer Segmentation
The target market and the customer segmentation underpinning FluxCap’s go-to-market focus.
| Segment | Profile | Primary products | Share of FY2031 book (target) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salaried employees | Formal employment, R8k–R35k gross monthly income; short-term liquidity needs between pay cycles | FluxAdvance, FluxFlex, FluxSalary | 45% |
| Gig-economy workers | Ride-hailing, delivery, freelance; volatile income; thin bureau files | FluxAdvance, FluxWell | 15% |
| SMEs & informal traders | Sole proprietors needing emergency working capital in personal capacity | FluxFlex | 10% |
| Thin-file consumers | Limited traditional credit history; scoreable via alternative data | FluxAdvance (graduating to FluxFlex) | 18% |
| Young professionals | Digital natives, 25–35, mobile-first; convenience-driven | FluxFlex, FluxWell premium | 12% |
The unifying characteristic is not income level but digital
reachability plus data richness: every target segment can be
onboarded remotely and scored on transaction or payroll data. Consumers
earning above R15,000 gross monthly received 79.5% of unsecured credit
value in Q1 2025 — FluxCap’s mix deliberately reaches below this
concentration into the R8k–R15k band where competition is thinner,
ticket sizes smaller and pricing headroom (within NCA caps) greater,
offset by the elevated cost-of-risk assumption already embedded in the
model.
