Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Compliance

The target certifications and the regulatory framework underpinning GrainCore’s food safety, quality and compliance.

Food safety is non-negotiable in staple-food manufacturing and is a
prerequisite for retail listings, industrial contracts, and export.
GrainCore will operate to international standards from first
production.

11.1 Target Certifications

Certification Purpose
FSSC 22000 Globally recognised food-safety system certification (held by the reference operator’s mills)
HACCP Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points — process hazard management
ISO 22000 Food-safety management system standard
Halaal certification Access to Halaal consumer and export markets
Kosher certification Access to Kosher consumer and export markets

11.2 Regulatory Framework

Operations will comply with the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and
Disinfectants Act, mandatory maize-meal and wheat-flour fortification
regulations, SABS product standards, labelling regulations, and
environmental and occupational health-and-safety legislation. A
dedicated quality and compliance function will be established at
financial close.
