Products & Services

The maize products, the wheat flour products, the industrial products and by-products, the value-added services and the indicative pricing and yields.

GrainCore’s product portfolio spans consumer staples, industrial
inputs, and valorised by-products. This breadth diversifies revenue,
balances margin profiles, and ensures that every tonne of grain milled
is fully monetised.

6.1 Maize Products

Maize is the volume foundation of the business and the first line to
commission. The maize portfolio targets both the formal and informal
channels with a tiered offering:

  • Super maize meal — the premium, finely milled grade; the
    highest-volume consumer line.
  • Special maize meal — a coarser, value grade for price-sensitive
    and informal-trade consumers.
  • Samp — dehulled, broken maize kernels; a traditional staple with
    strong cultural demand.
  • Maize grits — for the brewing, breakfast-cereal, and
    snack-manufacturing industries.
  • Fortified maize flour — micronutrient-fortified in line with
    national fortification regulations.

The reference operator Premier markets comparable maize products
under the Iwisa No.1, Nyala, Invicta, and Super Sun brands, illustrating
the brand-tiering strategy GrainCore will pursue with its own labels and
private-label contracts.

6.2 Wheat Flour Products

The wheat line, commissioning in Year 2, addresses the large,
import-dependent, and structurally under-supplied domestic flour
market:

  • Bread flour — the highest-volume wheat product, supplying
    commercial and in-store bakeries.
  • Cake flour — a soft-wheat consumer and industrial
    product.
  • Self-raising flour — value-added consumer packs.
  • Industrial baking flour — bulk supply under contract to large
    bakeries and food manufacturers.
  • Pizza and biscuit flours — specialty grades for food-service and
    manufacturing clients.

The reference operator’s flagship wheat brand, Snowflake, has
operated for more than 135 years — evidence of the durability of brand
equity in the flour category.

6.3 Industrial Products & By-Products

Milling generates valuable co-products that GrainCore will monetise
rather than discard, supporting both margin and its zero-waste ESG
commitments:

  • Bran — wheat and maize bran sold as a high-fibre animal-feed
    ingredient.
  • Germ — sold to feed and oil-extraction markets.
  • Animal-feed blends — formulated feed ingredients from milling
    residues.

By-products are projected to contribute incremental revenue rising
from roughly R24 million in Year 1 to over R140 million by Year 5 as
throughput scales.

6.4 Value-Added Services

  • Fortification — micronutrient blending to regulatory and customer
    specification.
  • Bulk blending — custom flour and meal blends for industrial
    clients.
  • Private-label manufacturing — contract production for retailers’
    own brands, improving capacity utilisation.

6.5 Indicative Product Pricing & Yields
