Spice Route Kitchens (Pty) Ltd is a private company to be incorporated under the Companies Act 71 of 2008, headquartered in Johannesburg. It occupies the premium fine-casual dining segment, combining authentic regional Indian cuisine with contemporary restaurant interiors, an open tandoor kitchen, signature tasting menus, Indian tapas for sharing, premium cocktails and craft beverages, chef’s-table experiences, private dining, an event-venue capability, online ordering and luxury catering.

The vision is to become Africa’s leading premium Indian restaurant and hospitality brand. The mission is to redefine Indian dining through exceptional food, authentic hospitality, innovative dining experiences and sustainable business growth.

The founding team combines over twenty years of restaurant operations and franchising experience (Executive Chairman), internationally trained Indian-cuisine and hospitality-management expertise (CEO), food-manufacturing, restaurant-systems and supply-chain capability (Operations Director), and hospitality-marketing, loyalty and digital-commerce expertise (Commercial Director). The team holds 100% of equity at the outset, aligning management and ownership.

The long-term ambition

Within a decade the Company aims to operate 50+ premium restaurants and express outlets across South Africa and the SADC region, develop a central food-production facility supplying restaurants, franchises and retail partners, build a consumer-products division supplying supermarkets with branded spice blends, chutneys, sauces and ready-to-cook meal kits, and achieve annual revenues exceeding R750 million on a balanced portfolio of restaurants, catering, retail products and franchise royalties.
