13.1 BEE Compliance
Zama Clothing will maintain Level 2 B-BBEE contributor status through a structured compliance programme spanning all five elements of the scorecard. The company’s 51% black ownership provides a strong foundation, supplemented by management control, skills development (CTFL SETA partnership), enterprise development (SMME supplier programme), and socio-economic development (community training initiatives). Annual BEE verification will be conducted by an accredited verification agency.
13.2 Labour Compliance
All employment practices will comply with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Labour Relations Act (LRA), Employment Equity Act (EEA), and the National Bargaining Council for the Clothing Manufacturing Industry’s collective agreements. The company will register with the Clothing Industry Bargaining Council and the relevant SETA. Occupational health and safety compliance with the OHS Act will be maintained through regular workplace audits and training.
13.3 Environmental Compliance
The facility will comply with the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) and applicable waste management regulations. An Environmental Management Plan will address water usage and recycling, textile waste minimisation and recycling partnerships, chemical handling and storage protocols, and energy efficiency targets. The solar PV installation supports the company’s carbon reduction commitments.
13.4 Tax & Financial Reporting
The company will register for corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, UIF, and SDL with SARS. Annual financial statements will be prepared in accordance with IFRS for SMEs and audited by a registered auditor. Quarterly management accounts will be prepared for investor and lender reporting requirements.
