Zama Clothing will create 316+ direct jobs by Year 5, with an estimated further 600–800 indirect jobs in the supply chain, logistics, and retail sectors. The company prioritises employment of women and youth (target: 65% female workforce, 40% under age 35), contributing to national employment objectives in a sector identified by government as having high labour absorption capacity.
14.2 Skills Development
The annual skills development budget of 3–4% of payroll will fund 30+ learnerships per year, supervisory and management development programmes, and partnerships with local TVET colleges for practical training placements. These programmes support both the company’s operational needs and broader community development.
14.3 Environmental Sustainability
Environmental commitments include the 100 kWp rooftop solar PV system reducing grid electricity dependence by 25–30%, water recycling systems for fabric processing, textile waste recycling partnerships diverting 80%+ of production waste from landfill, and sustainable fabric sourcing from certified suppliers. The company will report annually on its environmental performance as part of its ESG reporting framework.
