industrial beneficiation and world-class infrastructure.

4.2 The value-chain capture thesis

Historically, African mining companies have generated value primarily
through extraction, exporting unbeneficiated ore and importing finished
industrial goods. TitanForge’s model captures margin at each successive
stage: resource ownership → processing → logistics → export
infrastructure → manufacturing → industrial ecosystems. Each stage
compounds the one before it: ore that is smelted in-house captures the
alloy conversion margin; alloys railed on owned rolling stock avoid
third-party logistics leakage and Transnet allocation risk; volumes
shipped through owned terminal capacity avoid demurrage and port
congestion costs; and industrial park tenants convert freight flows into
anchored manufacturing demand.

The financial expression of the thesis is the EBITDA margin path: 24%
in Year 1 (predominantly mining), expanding to 31% by Year 5 and 33% by
Year 10 as beneficiation, contracted logistics and energy revenues — all
structurally higher-margin or lower-volatility than ore sales — grow
their share of the mix. Section 7.2 benchmarks this path against listed
peers; it sits within the observed range and below pure-play miners at
cycle peaks, which supports its credibility.
