The LumenIQ Platform

Jump to section

LumenIQ ingests inverter, meter and weather-station data alongside soiling reference-cell readings, then models expected against actual yield for each site. It performs three jobs: it tells Lesedi when a site should be cleaned rather than following a blind calendar; it evidences recovered yield to the client after each intervention; and it flags equipment faults for dispatch before they become outages.

9.1 Capabilities

  • Condition-based scheduling. Soiling-rate learning per site replaces fixed cycles, cutting unnecessary visits and raising recovered yield per rand spent, the single largest driver of route-level margin.
  • Automated client reporting. Monthly performance packs generated without analyst time, which is what makes a growing contract book scalable without proportionate back-office headcount.
  • Crew dispatch and verification. Geotagged completion evidence feeding payroll and SLA compliance, the control that makes service-level guarantees enforceable rather than aspirational.
  • Standalone subscription. Sold separately to owners who retain O&M elsewhere, providing a low-cost route into accounts Lesedi does not yet service and a pipeline of qualified conversion targets.

9.2 Why the platform is strategically important

The platform does three things for the equity story that the field operation alone cannot. It converts the sales conversation from price to evidence, which protects margin in a fragmented and price-competitive market. It accumulates a proprietary dataset, site-specific soiling histories across regions and seasons, that improves scheduling accuracy the longer Lesedi operates, creating a compounding advantage a new entrant cannot replicate quickly. And it generates recurring subscription revenue at near-zero marginal cost, which is the highest-quality revenue in the business and the element most likely to attract a premium valuation multiple at exit.

NoteA platform of this scope carries execution risk of its own

LumenIQ is presented as delivering three distinct capabilities, analytics, client reporting and dispatch management, on a development budget embedded within a R38 million equity raise that is also funding three depots, a robotic fleet and an academy. Software of this scope is routinely underestimated, and the roadmap sequences version one ingestion within four months and fault alerting by month twelve, which is demanding alongside depot commissioning. Investors should confirm the platform development budget separately, satisfy themselves that the chief technology officer has dedicated engineering resource rather than shared capacity, and treat the standalone subscription revenue, 6% of Year-5 revenue, as upside rather than base case until version two is demonstrably live.
