Procurement and biosecurity leadership are the make-or-break hires.
In poultry, the buyer of feed and live birds effectively determines the
margin, a skilled procurement function that times the feed cycle and
secures reliable bird supply is worth more than any marketing effort.
Likewise, a lapse in biosecurity can erase a year’s profit overnight.
The plan’s dependence on assembling this specialist team before scale is
a genuine execution risk that equity incentives and staged hiring only
partly mitigate.
