The technology and systems – the processing, cold-chain and data infrastructure underpinning CluckCore.
- ERP & inventory: real-time stock,
procurement and yield tracking across live birds, feed and finished
goods. - Batch traceability: farm-to-dispatch
traceability for food-safety compliance and rapid recall
capability. - Cold-chain IoT: continuous temperature
monitoring across storage and transport, alerting on
excursions. - Automated pricing: dynamic pricing responsive to
feed cost, throughput and market conditions. - Digital ordering portal: bulk-buyer order
aggregation, improving demand visibility and cash cycle.
Technology is a margin and compliance tool, not a differentiator in
itself: in a commodity business, disciplined yield management (grams of
saleable meat per bird), cold-chain integrity (spoilage avoidance) and
procurement timing (feed and live-bird buying) are where systems earn
their keep. The automation capex is modest (~R170m including
distribution) but its operational leverage, a 1% yield improvement
across 33,000 tonnes is material, is high.
