2.1 Nature of Business
TransKora Logistics will operate a fleet of modern, roadworthy heavy-duty trucks providing full-service cross-border freight transport between South Africa and Tanzania. The Company’s primary trade corridor links Musina (Limpopo) with key Tanzanian economic hubs including Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Dodoma, transiting through Mozambique and Malawi via the N1/N4 corridor and TAZARA rail-adjacent routes.
The Company will offer the following core service lines:
2.1.1 Full Truckload (FTL) Services
Dedicated cargo movement for clients with large-volume shipments requiring exclusive use of a single truck. FTL services provide the fastest transit times and are ideal for manufacturing inputs, mining equipment, and bulk commodities.
2.1.2 Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Services
Consolidated freight solutions for clients with smaller shipments that do not justify exclusive truck use. LTL services provide cost-effective transport with scheduled departure frequencies along the primary corridor.
2.1.3 Refrigerated Transport (Cold-Chain Logistics)
Temperature-controlled freight movement for perishable goods including agricultural produce, pharmaceuticals, and food products. TransKora will deploy specialised refrigerated trailers with real-time temperature monitoring to ensure cold-chain integrity throughout the journey.
2.1.4 Customs & Compliance Assistance
End-to-end documentation services including pre-clearance processing, transit permits, phytosanitary certificates, and regulatory compliance across all border posts along the corridor. The Company will employ dedicated customs liaison officers at key border crossings.
2.1.5 Fleet Management Solutions
Value-added consultancy and technology services including GPS tracking, telematics data, route optimisation, and fleet performance analytics for third-party clients seeking to improve their own logistics operations.
2.2 Rationale for Musina as Operational Hub
The selection of Musina, Limpopo Province, as the Company’s headquarters and primary operational hub is based on the following strategic considerations:
-
Direct proximity to the Beitbridge border post, the busiest commercial border crossing in Southern Africa, handling over 200,000 commercial truck movements annually.
-
Location on the N1 national highway, providing seamless connectivity to Johannesburg, Pretoria, and the Gauteng industrial corridor.
-
Access to a skilled labour pool with experience in cross-border logistics, border processing, and long-haul trucking.
-
Lower operating costs (property, labour) compared to Gauteng, while maintaining strategic corridor access.
-
Planned Musina Special Economic Zone (SEZ) development, which is expected to attract manufacturing and warehousing investment, further increasing freight demand.
2.3 Legal Structure & Registration
TransKora Logistics is registered as a private company (Pty) Ltd under the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008. The Company holds the following registrations and licences:
-
CIPC registration (Company Registration Number: [To be assigned])
