5.3 Operational Workflow
The standard operational workflow for a cross-border consignment follows five key stages:
-
Cargo Collection & Documentation: Collection of goods from the client’s premises in South Africa; preparation of all customs, phytosanitary, and transit documentation.
-
Customs Clearance (South Africa Exit): Pre-clearance processing at Musina or Beitbridge border post; presentation of goods and documents to SARS and C-BRTA.
-
Transit Through Corridor Countries: Movement through Mozambique and/or Malawi with bond guarantee coverage; compliance with corridor country transit regulations.
-
Customs Clearance (Tanzania Entry): Processing of import documentation at the Kasumulu/Tunduma or Namanga border post; payment of applicable duties on behalf of the client.
-
Final Delivery & Proof of Delivery: Delivery of goods to the client’s designated location in Tanzania; electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) captured and transmitted to the client.
5.4 Route Strategy
TransKora will operate on two primary route variants to optimise transit times and manage border congestion risk:
-
Route A (Primary): Musina → Beitbridge → Harare → Lusaka → Tunduma → Dar es Salaam. Approximate distance: 3,400 km. Transit time: 7–9 days.
-
Route B (Alternative): Musina → Lebombo → Maputo → Beira → Lilongwe → Mbeya → Dar es Salaam. Approximate distance: 3,800 km. Transit time: 8–10 days.
Route selection will be determined dynamically based on border congestion data, weather conditions, road quality reports, and client delivery deadlines.

Refrigerated Cargo Monitoring: IoT-enabled temperature sensors with real-time alerts for cold-chain compliance.
